You can request repeat prescriptions for regular medications by logging in to our online system provider Patient Access. Prescription requests take at least 48 hours to process.

Practice news and updates

All change at Farmdene Health Centre

Many of you will know that Dr Hilary Evans retired as a GP partner in September and Dr Jane Ward has also just retired in November after nearly 30 years with the Health Centre. Fortunately neither doctor is planning to hang up their stethoscopes completely and they will both continue to work occasionally as locums in the practice and also continue their teaching of medical students. The remaining GPs are all managing larger lists. However we are very pleased to announce that Dr Carlos Ezquerra, whom some of who may remember as a previous partner, has returned to the practice.

Average GP earnings

All GP Practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice. The average pay for GPs working at Farmdene Health Centre in the last financial year was £67,179 before Tax and National Insurance . This is for 4 full time and 3 part time time GPs and 1 locum GP who worked in the practice for more than six months.

NHS app

The NHS app allows you to book appointments, order repeat prescriptions, view your medical record, and connect to a range of other NHS healthcare services. The app is available to download and install for iOS devices and Android smartphones and tablets from the Apple Store and Google Play Store.

Out of hours cover

The Surgery is closed from 6.30pm on weekdays and all day on weekends and bank holidays. If you need health advice when the surgery is shut please call NHS 111 and speak to a highly trained adviser, They will ask you a series of questions to assess your symptom and direct you to the best medical care for you.
